Frequently Asked Questions

What is your availability?
Please inquire to check availability for your wedding day by emailing info@natalieheimphotography.com or calling (252) 573-1769
**I typically respond back to emails within 24 hours. If you do not get a reply email back within 24 hours, please check your junk folder since my email address sometimes gets redirected there.

What is required for me to book my wedding?
Your date with be considered officially booked once I have the retainer and completed information sheet/contract that I provide to you.

How much of a retainer do I need to put down? And when is the final balance due?
I ask for a 50% retainer to confirm your booking. The remaining 50% balance is due by your wedding day.

Do you charge a travel fee?
No, if your wedding is in the Outer Banks area, I do not charge a travel fee.
If I will be traveling outside of the Outer Banks please inquire about the travel fee.

Are there any additional hidden fees other than the price listed in you pricing section?

Will I be provided with rights to make my own prints from the image disc?
Yes. With your digital files you will receive a letter giving you the rights for personal use. This means you are able to have your own prints and products made, share the pictures on social media, and use them on a personal blog or website.

What is your photography style?
A combination of candid photojournalism and timeless portraiture. I have a relaxed and unobtrusive approach that captures moments as they happen naturally, while still giving guidance when needed and setting aside time for guided portraits. I strive for your images to look bright and clean, with cheerful and romantic vibes. I love capturing emotion, and love capturing the beautiful scenic atmosphere where your wedding takes place.

What is the ideal time of day for portraits?
My favorite time of day is the last hour before sunset. The lighting is softer, the sky is beautiful, the shoreline is glowing, there are less people on the beach at that time, and the temperature is a little cooler in the summer months.

How much time should I set aside for portraits?
I advise planning for a minimum of one hour for portraits. This time will include group pictures with family, wedding party portraits, and bride/groom portraits. For more specific advice for your photography timeline, please inquire.
