What is your availability?
Please inquire by emailing info@natalieheimphotography.com Please include the dates you will be in town and how many people will be participating. Since I shoot in different areas on different days, please also include where exactly you will be staying.

**I respond back to emails within 24 hours. If you do not get a reply email back within 24 hours, please check your junk folder since my email address sometimes gets redirected there.

What is required to book a session?

Your session date with be considered officially booked once I have the retainer and completed information form/contract that I provide to you.

How much of a retainer do I need to put down? And when is the final balance due?
I ask for a 50% retainer to confirm your booking. The remaining 50% balance is due by your session date.

Do you charge a travel fee?
No, if the session location is in the Outer Banks area, I do not charge a travel fee.
If I will be traveling outside of the Outer Banks please inquire about the travel fee.

Are there any additional hidden fees other than the price listed in you pricing section?
No.

Will I be provided with rights to make my own prints?
Yes. With your pictures you will receive a letter of rights giving you the rights for personal use. This means you are able to have your own prints and products made at labs of your choice, share the pictures on social media, and use them on a personal blog or website.

What is the best time of day for pictures?
My favorite time of day is the last hour before sunset. The lighting is soft and even, the sky is beautiful, the shoreline is glowing, there are less people on the beach at that time, and the temperature is a little cooler during summer months.

Do you only offer sunset sessions?
No. I also offer the session prior to the sunset session. This option is especially good for families with small children who have early bedtimes. Since these times vary throughout the year, please inquire for the specific session times during the week of your vacation.

Do you have a recommendation on what we should wear?

Yes! Once you book your session, I will send you my Family Portrait Guide PDF which has a section with my recommendations for clothing.

What is your photography style for family portraits?
My sessions tend to be laid back and fun. I typically like to get a combination of posed portraits and candids. I usually spend about half our time getting posed group shots, standing and sitting. Then spend the second half of our time letting everyone play at the waters edge for candid shots.

Can we get different groupings during our family session?
Yes absolutely, during our time together we can get whatever different groupings you all would like. Examples would be a group picture of everybody, each individual family, individuals of the kids, grandkids with the grandparents, etc.

What happens if it's raining during our scheduled session time?
I will make every effort to make up your session as soon as possible if it's raining during your scheduled time. I also leave a day towards the end of every week free of portrait sessions for a weather make-up day.
